DIOCESAN MISSION: We are delighted to welcome to Ballymore today parishioners from Mullavilly Parish, the Acton Group of Parishes, Clare Parish, the Drogheda Union of Parishes and the Dundalk Union of Parishes. It is also a great privilege to welcome our Missioner, the Archbishop of Dublin, the Most Revd Dr Michael Jackson, who will be the celebrant and preacher at the 11am Service of Holy Communion. Members of the Sunday Schools in our mission group will also take part in a special programme in the Parish Hall this morning and will join us in Church during the offertory hymn. At 3.15pm parishioners are invited to join people from across the length and breadth of Armagh Diocese in a special Mission Celebration Service in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh.

CHOIR PRACTICE: Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in Church for both the Parish Choir and Junior Choir.

WALKMORE: The Parish Walking Club will meet on the following dates:
Wednesday 21st November – Tow Path (Poyntzpass)
Wednesday 5th December – Lurgan Park
Meet at Church Car Park 10am. Walks are weather permitting!!!

OPEN DOOR CLUB will meet on Thursday 22nd November at 2pm in the Minor Hall when the speaker will be Joanne Atkinson from the Library. New members welcome.

GRAVEYARD TIDY UP: This year the tidy up will take place next Saturday, 24th November from 9am. Please bring your own gardening tools. The more volunteers then the faster the work will be done! All help will be gratefully received.

CHRISTMAS SHOP: The Charity Craft Group have their Christmas Shop again this year in the British Legion premises in The Square, Tandragee until Saturday 1st December. The shop will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 10am – 4pm and Saturdays 10am -1pm. Closed Tuesdays. We would welcome your support as usual. Thanks.

COUNTRY & GOSPEL CONCERT: Many thanks to all who came along and supported this event in the Parish Hall on Wednesday evening past. Sincere thanks to compere Mervyn Walker and our guest artistes. Thanks also to all who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the event possible and in particular to the “Entertainments Manager” Emo Overend for his energy and enthusiasm in organising the Concert. The total amount raised was £3,265. £1,265 was given to Ballymore for Church Funds and the Rector presented a cheque for £2,000 to Mrs Doris Hamilton for the Cancer Fund for Children, Daisy Lodge.

CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX APPEAL: Many thanks to all who supported the appeal. 54 shoeboxes were sent off from Ballymore and so we look forward to seeing the pictures of them arriving with the children in eastern Europe and Africa.

CHARITY CAROL SERVICE will take place on Sunday 2nd December in Ballymore. This year’s nominated charity is the Williams Syndrome Foundation UK. Poyntzpass Silver Band will lead the singing of the carols and will be joined by the choir of Tandragee Primary School along with our own Parish Choir.

SENIOR CITIZENS’ CHRISTMAS PARTY: Saturday 8th December at 5pm (dinner will be served at 5.30pm). Please put the date in your diary and pass on an invitation to any of the older members of our congregation. If you intend to be present please add your name to the list in the Church porch to assist us with the catering arrangements. Thanks.

CHRISTMAS CARDS: We have some Parish Christmas cards available featuring different designs of the interior and exterior of the Church and stained glass windows. Cards are priced at £4 per pack (10 cards) and can be found in the baptistery. Money can be left in the basket. Thanks.

FLOWER FESTIVAL in Tullyallen Presbyterian Church today from 2pm, with the theme “Service & Sacrifice”. Closing Service of Remembrance at 7.30pm and teas are available this afternoon.

MULLABRACK ANTIQUE & CRAFT FAIR: Saturday 24th November from 10.30am to 4pm in Mullabrack Parish Hall. All money raised is for Missions in Paraguay and Aids Orphans in Tanzania. Entry £2 per person, children of primary school age and under free.

FREEWILL OFFERING: Any parishioners who do not currently use Freewill Offering envelopes or monthly Standing Order and would like to do so, please contact Mrs Ann Liggett (Tel: 3833 8002 ) or Tom McCord (Tel: 3884 1021). All Freewill Offerings for 2018 must be received on or before the 31st December 2018 in order to be included in the accounts for the year 2018. This is due to the Charity Commissions regulations.

GIFT AID allows the Parish to claim back 25% on Freewill Offerings or Donations from the Revenue Authorities when the donor pays at least the amount of Income Tax as the Gift Aid claimed in the relevant year. If you do not currently Gift Aid your offering and wish to do so, please contact Ann or Tom on the above numbers. For those who presently Gift Aid, thank you for your additional support. Please make sure you notify us should you no longer pay income tax, change your name or address, so that our records are up to date.

REMINDER: In February each year the Revision of the General Vestry takes place. Only those people whose name appears on the list can vote at the Easter General Vestry Meeting or serve on the Select Vestry. Under new legislation adopted by the Diocesan Synod in October 2016 and approved by the Representative Body in December 2016 “any person registered or claiming to be registered as a resident or an accustomed member, must be an annual subscriber of a sum not less than £50 per annum to the Sustentation Fund of the Parish of which he or she wishes to be a vestry member.”

FROM THE RECTOR: As many of you will know, I am going into hospital on Thursday of this week for surgery to have my gallbladder removed. The recovery period will necessitate me being on sick leave for at least four weeks. During that time everything in the Parish will continue as normal and Sunday Services will be at the usual times. During this period our former Curate, the Revd Graham Spence, will look after all pastoral concerns. Graham can be contacted on Tel: 3082 1848. For anything else please contact the Churchwardens.
